Special Operations Command South conducts Rotary-wing Airborne Operation
Army Chief Warrant Officer Benjamin Sales, a communications officer for Special Operations Command South, conducts a jumpmaster personnel inspection or JMPI on a fellow paratrooper prior to an airborne operation at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., April 16. A JMPI is done in order to ensure the safety of each jumper as they exit the aircraft. This operation allows airborne-qualified personnel assigned to SOCSOUTH to maintain current airborne proficiency and mission readiness in response to any contingency response force in the command's area of responsibility, which spans from the Caribbean, Central and South America.
