The 367th Fighter Squadron is an Active Duty unit integrating with the 482d Fighter Wing under the Total Force Integration (TFI) initiative. The concept of TFI is to embed Active Duty personnel with their Guard and Reserve counterparts, just as Guard and Reserve personnel have been embedded with various Active Duty units throughout the military for many years. Similar initiatives are underway at Naval Air Station Joint Base Fort Worth, Texas, the Vermont National Guard, Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, and McEntire Joint National Guard Base, South Carolina. Here at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida, 367th FS is OPCON to various units within the 482d Fighter Wing, but reports directly to Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.
