Does Homestead Air Reserve Base have a Base Exchange or Commissary?

Homestead ARB does not have a full base exchange or commissary, but it does have a Shoppette Express and military clothing store located across the street from the main entrance of the base. For more information, call (305) 258-3881.

Driving directions to Homestead Air Reserve Base

Homestead Air Reserve Base is located approximately 25 miles south of Miami and 20 miles north of the Florida Keys, between Everglades National Park on the west and Biscayne National Park on the east. The base is easily accessible via the Florida Turnpike for travelers coming from the north or south. To access the base from the Florida Turnpike take exit 5 (SW 288th Street) and travel east approximately 1 mile until you see the base. For travelers inbound via U.S. Highway 1, turn on SW 288th Street and drive east approximately 4 miles until you see the base.

Does Homestead Air Reserve Base have any programs to assist family members of military personnel?

Yes. Homestead Air Reserve Base has a full-time Family Readiness Support Center. While operated by the Air Force Reserve Command, the center is available to assist military dependents regardless of branch of service. The phone number to the center is (786) 415-7329.

How can I obtain an ID card at Homestead Air Reserve Base?

Homestead ARB has a Pass and ID section that can provide assistance to military retirees, active-duty, Reserve, Guard, regardless of the branch of service, and family members.

Appointments required, and are no longer made over the phone. To schedule an appointment please visit: https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/rsl or https://rapids-appointments.dmdc.osd.mil.

In order to obtain an ID card you must show two valid forms of identification that are non-expired. Acceptable forms of ID include: Driver's license, military ID card, school ID, social security card, voter's registration card, birth certificate, passport, resident card, alien card, foreign national ID with photo.

Dependents who are 21 and over, and are full time college students, must have a certified letter from the institutions registrar's office. The letter must show that the dependant is currently enrolled with an expected graduation date. For dependants who request to be enrolled into DEERS for tricare as beneficiaries, and the sponsor is on an active status or away, must present a valid DD-1172 given by the sponsor.

PLEASE NOTE: All marriage certificates, birth certificates and divorce decrees shown for DEERS must be the original court-certified copies.

How do I request a person to speak to a group?

Homestead Air Reserve Base has an active speakers bureau which provides speakers, affiliated with Homestead Air Reserve Base, for civic and community organizations and events.  Request a Flyover

How do I request a flyover?

To request a flyover you must complete a DD Form 2535 on-line by visiting AF Aerial Events Web Site. After the form is completed and submitted, you must print and send to the local FAA Flight Standards District Office for their approval. After the FAA approves the form you need to email it to: USAFAerialEvents@mail.mil. Please plan ahead and allow at least 45 days to complete the request.
