Joint Hometown News Service

The mission of the Joint Hometown News Service is to tell the American military story one service member at a time. The JHNS endeavors to bring the service member and his or her friends and family closer together by composing and publishing the service member's personal career accomplishments in their hometown newspaper and online. It doesn't matter what branch of the military you serve, or even if you are a civilian government employee. Share your story with those you hold dear. You can return time and time again throughout your career to share more of your accomplishments.

The JHNS produces a variety of print and electronic news products highlighting the accomplishments and worldwide activities of individual members of the U.S. armed forces. Each year, more than 500,000 individual news releases are distributed to 14,000 newspapers and television and radio stations.
