In support of Foreign Disaster Relief efforts in the Bahamas, a U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook and its crew lands at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida, Sept. 5, 2019. U.S. Army helicopters and personnel will provide heavy lift and personnel transport to and from the Bahamas in support of humanitarian relief efforts. The Secretary of Defense authorized U.S. Northern Command to provide transportation logistics for the movement of USAID and third party humanitarian commodities and personnel throughout the region and to conduct assessments of critical transportation nodes to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance and maximize the flow of disaster relief into the area.
