Base pioneers emergency communications kits, joint exercise

Tech. Sgt. Francis L. Hartley, member of the 482nd Communications Squadron at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., swaps stories with Master Sgt. George T. Curry, a first sergeant with the 94th Communications Squadron at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga., during a base recovery exercise at Homestead ARB on Oct. 18. The exercise included five units from the Air Force Reserve and was used to give members a chance to practice setting up and draft operating instructions for the Joint Incident Site Communications Capability kits which are used during emergencies to keep key leaders and local first responders connected when there is a communications outage.
