MSST Miami trains for counter drug, interdiction missions
The U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST) Miami, based out of Homestead Air Reserve Base, perform aggressive tactical maneuvers in the waters off of Homestead Bayfront Park. Unit members accomplished four days of “non-compliant vessel use of force pursuit training” from June 23-26 to add a new close quarters pursuit capability to their tool kit. The MSST Miami is an active-duty Coast Guard unit capable of rapid, global deployment, providing specialized capabilities and tactics to deter, detect, and counter criminal, terrorist, and other threats to national security.
