Army Brig. Gen. Hector E. Pagan, U.S. Special Operations Command South commander at HARB, addresses military, civilian, and local government officials during a ceremony held in observance of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11. General Pagan thanked everyone for their service to the country and not to forget those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of this great nation.
The general also stated, “We will not rest until we defeat those that mean us harm”.
As part of the ceremonies, SOCSOUTH will hold its annual Remembrance Run on Sept. 12. Unit members will run a 15-mile relay race from Homestead ARB to Biscayne National Park. SOCSOUTH is a subordinate component for special operations under the U.S. Southern Command, which is headquartered in the City of Doral, Fla. The command’s Area of Focus encompasses the land mass and adjacent waters of Latin America south of Mexico covering about 15.6 million square miles. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tim Norton)
