Fuels best in 10th
Reservists from the 482nd Logistics Readiness Squadron’s Fuels Flight, Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., were named the Best Fuels Flight in 10th Air Force for 2007. The flight will now compete against other numbered AF winners for the American Petroleum Institute’s Golden Derrick Trophy, recognizing the best fuels management operation in the Air Force Reserve Command. Personnel from HQ AFRC visited the base to evaluate performance of aircraft refuels, vehicle inspections, safety programs and local polices Feb. 9. The evaluators left the base highly impressed with the overall performance of the flight. “We usually don’t see such strong programs; it was a pleasure to see the support the base gave the fuels flight”, said Col. Joseph Pinckney, HQ AFRC evaluation team chief. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sergeant Bill Bechelmayr)
