Homestead ARB to hold realistic base-wide exercise March 8-11

Master Sgt. James Raulerson, 482nd Civil Engineer Squadron’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight technician (left), instructs Senior Master Sgt. Eddie Hodgson (right), 482nd Security Forces Squadron, on how to use smoke grenades and ground burst simulators on March 3. The instruction is in preparation for the upcoming base-wide Operational Readiness Exercise set for March 8-11. The simulators will create blasting noises and smoke for the realistic scenarios that reservists will encounter during the exercise. “Homestead Air Reserve Base goes to great lengths to ensure safety procedures are established and followed during exercises to prepare our reservists for deployment,” said Mr. Sean Quinn, 482nd Mission Support Group Emergency Management Office.
