Back on home turf
HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- Seventy five Air Force reservists from the 482nd Fighter Wing returned home after a two-month deployment to Joint Base Balad, Iraq, on Feb. 28. The returning pilots and maintenance crews generated hundreds of close air support and surveillance and reconnaissance missions in support of U.S., Iraqi and Coalition ground forces. Saturday’s homecoming is part of a larger deployment package of almost 400 reservists deployed to two locations in Iraq. Ten F-16 fighter jets from Homestead ARB remain in Iraq, and reservists will continue to rotate in and out over the next two months. (Courtesy photo by Albert Siegel)
