Ryan Ayers, Citizen Airman, preaches a family funeral for a WWII combat veteran March 31 in Miami, Fla. Mr. Ayers is a preacher while out of uniform, eulogizing an average of one funeral per week, and he’s currently pursuing a master’s degree in pastoral counseling. As a traditional Air Force reservist, Sergeant Ayers is a chaplain assistant and was recently recognized by the command at the 2006 Citizen Airman Outstanding Reserve Chaplain Assistant of the Year.
