Air transportation specialists from the 482nd Mission Support Group's 70th Aerial Port Squadron load 25,000 pounds of U.S. Agency for International Development relief supplies on a Puerto Rico Air National Guard C-130 before dawn Sept. 8. Destined for Nicaragua, the mission was part of a U.S. Southern Command humanitarian effort to help communities affected by Hurricane Felix. The relief supplies consisted of 140 rolls of plastic sheeting, hygiene kits capable of supporting a family of five for up to two weeks and wool blankets. The Air Force Reserve Command transportation specialists loading the plane at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., are responsible for inspecting, documenting, packaging, and loading and unloading cargo on aircraft.
