Homestead ARB prepares for Tropical Storm Noel

Six F-16 aircraft from the 482nd Fighter Wing, Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., await departure Oct. 30, 2007. A total of 24 F-16 fighter jets left Homestead ARB for Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga., as part of preparations for Tropical Storm Noel. The early evacuation allows pilots and maintenance personnel to return home to south Florida in time to care for their families before a storm. The movement of jets is a precaution to protect this valuable national asset. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tim Norton)
