AIR FORCE LEADERS LOOK TO GET LEAN
Dr Steven J. Melnick, Chief Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratories at the Miami Children's Hospital addresses Major General Frank J. Padilla, 10th Air Force Commander, during a tour focused on the hospital's implementation of the Lean system, a managerial process designed to help identify waste. 28 Commanders from 10th Air Force participated in a two day seminar on the Lean system at Homestead Air Reserve Base and Children's Hospital, Aug 10-11, in order to gain skills for implementing cuts that require the Air Force as a whole to abide by within the 2016 deadline.
