DELIVERING THE MAIL

Senior Airman Mario Zamora-Ceja, 70th Aerial Port Squadron, unloads mail from an aircraft at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan. Short Takeoff and Landing team at Bagram recently set the record for most mail shipped in a single day with 49791 tons. STOLS aircraft are used to send mail, small amounts of cargo, and personnel to dispersed Foreward Operating Bases in Afghanistan. 59 Mako Porters from the 482nd Fighter Wing are currently deployed to Bagram and two to Manas for 4 months.
