Case lot sale, savings on groceries comes to HARB

In order to bring substantial savings on groceries to local servicemembers, Homestead Air Reserve base hosts a case lot sale, sponsored by the Defense Commissary Agency, Sept. 7-9. The event, which brings truckloads of groceries to servicemembers at cost, is located behind the Base Exchange Shopette across the street from the base’s Coral Sea Gate and is open to all servicemembers with a valid Department of Defense identification card and runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Marlins

Senior Airman Jose De Jesus, Security Forces Patrolman 482d Security Forces Squadron poses, with the Miami Marlin Energy Team for a photo during the Miami Marlins visit to the base Aug, 20. Their third time visiting HARB, the Miami Marlins Energy Team handed out free game tickets and fan paraphernalia such as water bottles, bags and player bobble-head dolls, while Billy Marlin entertained, posed for pictures, and shook hands.

Muster

Tech Sgt. Jacklyn Pacheco, 482nd Fighter Wing Financial Management and Comptroller, helps an IRR member with their paper work during the base’s annual muster, Aug. 17. IRR members are composed of former active duty, guard and reserve servicemembers who have time remaining on their military service obligation or on a contracted agreement. Until the end of their obligation they are assigned to the IRR. IRR members do not participate in military activities unless a time of national emergency declared by the president and they are activated.

Tech sergeant Randi Ferebee, 482nd Fighter Wing, Chief, Installation Personnel Readiness, hands an IRR member their paper work after processing it during the base’s annual muster, Aug. 17. The muster had 60 IRR members participate and featured a myriad of events such as a Veteran's Administration brief, medical screening, identification card issue, updating of personal data, and civilian employment information update.
