During the October Unit Training Assembly, Chief Master Sgt. Frederick Becking, the 482nd Fighter Wing command chief, held the first Airman and junior NCO all call to encourage unity and the revitalization of the Airman’s Council and 5/6 Club, here, Oct. 16.

Becking encouraged junior enlisted Airmen to continue building strong bonds within the wing, get them to get involved with the councils and uphold Air Force core values.

“Airmen and NCOs set and maintain the standard and keep alive what our founding fathers fought for. We as Airmen build character [through team building] that will last a lifetime,” said Becking.

“Excellence in all we do” is an Air Force core value that directs Airmen to develop a sustained passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

“The Fighter Wing’s unifying principles are to educate, motivate and innovate -- This should be the motto for our new 5/6 Council because you are the group that is going to mentor and guide our Airmen,” said Becking.

Fresh concepts, dedication and motivation to lead are a few qualities that make an Airman or NCO a great candidate for each group, said Becking.

“Now is your chance to make a difference, we are looking for driven passionate Airmen and NCOs to run for and support the Airman's Council and 5/6 Clubs,” said Staff Sgt. Marcela Scalia, a 482nd Maintenance Group commander support staff.

Those who would like to get involved with the Airman’s Council may contact Staff Sgt. Marcela Scalia at 415-8255. To join the 5/6 Club contact Senior Master Sgt. Jenny Nicholson at 415-7102 or Master Sgt. Robert Avery at 415-6692.
