For the first time since 2014, the 482nd Fighter Wing Chapel offered religious services to HARB Airmen, Aug. 7.

The chapel is offering nondenominational services every Sunday during Unit Training Assemblies at 10 a.m.

Unremitting improvement of spiritual fitness aimed at Team Homestead is what the chapel is all about.

“Personal spiritual resilience always needs development and encouragement,” said Chaplain (Capt.) Alex Johnson, a 482nd Fighter Wing chaplain, who gave the sermon. “The chapel and its personnel are beacons always willing to reach out.”

After a long hiatus, the chapel staff is prepared to accommodate large turnouts.

Many unit personnel are busy finalizing their duties and paperwork before heading back home on Sundays. But chaplains urge Airmen to rekindle their own personal spirituality.

Kansas Franks, with the 482nd Contracting Squadron, shared how the sermon inspired him.

“If it wasn’t for the chaplains today I wouldn’t have the motivation or energy to put one foot in front of the other,” said Franks, after the sermon. “Thank you for your divine words this morning.”

During September’s UTA, the chapel is hosting a special service in remembrance of 9/11.

The chapel offers numerous programs during the week such as a prayer group on Wednesdays at noon and Protestant Women of the Chapel on Thursdays at 11:30. Other UTA on-site services are also available. For more information contact the Master Sgt. Denise Dunnam at 415-7795, or email her at denise.dunnam@us.af.mil.
