Editor's note: Homestead Air Reserve Base's recruiting efforts extend throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties in search of the Citizen Airmen of tomorrow. Despite proactive community outreach programs, many people aren't aware our recruiters' offices in the Cities of Doral and Hialeah. We'd like to introduce Staff Sgt. Angel "Ernie" Sacarello, our new recruiter in Doral.

Previous assignment(s): Atlanta Military Entrance Processing Station. Before I got into recruiting, I was a heating, ventilation and air conditioning technician.

Time in service: 11 years

Hometown: Mayaguez, Puerto Rico

Off-duty activities: Riding motorcycles, going to the beach, and spending time with family.

Goals for new position: Be the top recruiter in Florida.

Recruiting philosophy: "Help people." I want to help people change their lives for the better.

Who is the person who has had the biggest impact on your life?
I'd have to say it would be my grandmother. My parents worked long hours, and my grandmother played a huge part in raising me.

Biggest challenge faced in Air Force career?
It was definitely my time recruiting in New York City. It was tough because there were a lot of people who I talked to who were ineligible to join the Air Force, and I really had to "hit the streets" looking for qualified applicants.

If you could pick any actor to play the lead role in a movie about your life, who would it be? Antonio Banderas

If you could have dinner with any three people, who would they be?
I'll say five people: my wife and four children. I'm a really family-oriented guy; everything I do is for them.
