482nd Fighter Wing to host Employer Day on June 6

HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. - --  The 482nd Fighter Wing wouldn't be able to fulfill its mission and support humanitarian efforts and contingencies overseas without the continued support of those who employ Air Force reservists.

To recognize this support, the wing has scheduled an Employer Day on June 6 to give thanks and highlight the importance of these companies and organizations.

The 482nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office is now taking nominations for employers of wing reservists to have a ride on a KC-135 Stratotanker and observe the aerial refueling on F-16 fighter jets. In addition to the flight, the guests will receive a firsthand glimpse of the quality of military training and leadership instruction reservists receive by taking a tour of Homestead Air Reserve Base.

Employers will meet at the BX-Mart parking lot at 8 a.m. for the event, and the day will conclude around 3 p.m. They'll also be asked about their concerns regarding their Reserve employees and share insights on the challenges and benefits of having employees serving in the Reserve. Additionally, a complimentary lunch will be provided by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

To nominate your boss for this event, reservists are asked to send the information listed below to Mr. Tim Norton at Timothy.Norton@homestead.af.mil. All fields must be completed, and nominations must be received no later than June 1 for consideration.

The flight is for employers only, but military members are invited to join the group for lunch. We are limited to 50 employers. It will be on a first come, first serve basis, with a backup list of 10 in case of cancellations. The requirement is that nominees must employ 482nd Fighter Wing reservists. Employers and their military sponsors will receive the Employer Day itinerary via email two days prior to the event.
