The 482nd Fighter Wing will host an observance breakfast to commemorate National Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Day at the Falcon's Nest Club at 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 18.

All base personnel and tenant units are welcome to attend the half-hour ceremony featuring a special performance by the base Honor Guard and guest speaker Retired Marine Maj. David Cleeland.

The observance breakfast is an annual event to pay respects and honor the brave Americans who served their country under very difficult circumstances and to those who paid the ultimate price fighting for our freedom.

Observances are held across the country on military installations, ships at sea, state capitols, schools and veterans' facilities. Also, POW/MIA National Recognition Day is one of a handful of days throughout the year that Congress has mandated the flying of the POW/MIA flag.

Event tickets that include breakfast may be purchased in advance for $9.95 from the following representatives:

- Maintenance Group: Capt. David Black
- Operations Group: Mrs. Mildred Cintron
- Mission Support Group: 1st Lt. Sabrina Ura
- Fighter Wing: Public Affairs Office
