Maj. Gen. Frank Padilla, 10th Air Force commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Lesley Morrissette, 10th Air Force command chief, visited to Homestead Air Reserve Base on Sept. 12-13 to meet the 1,400 reservists who take time away from their families and civilian careers to serve in the Reserve.

Padilla and Morrissette toured the base, visited the squadrons, and spoke about the importance of the Air Force mission and the major contributions reservists make on a daily basis. Both thanked the Airmen for their dedication as well as answered questions on various topics affecting reservists such as Reserve retirement, promotions, education and future combat deployments.

"General Padilla and Chief Morrissette were very impressed with our Airmen here at the 482nd Fighter Wing," said Brig. Gen. William Binger, 482nd FW commander. "It was a very productive visit, and we were able to communicate issues affecting our reservists and gain insight on the future of the Air Force Reserve."

The commanders also participated in the September unit training assembly commander's call with all 482nd members inside the Sam Johnson fitness center gymnasium.

Following the commander's call, Morrissette addressed all enlisted members of the wing in a question and answer session. The highest ranking enlisted member of the 10th AF also stressed the importance of education, and how the Community College of the Air Force is an excellent foundation for a bachelor's degree.
