Lt. Col. Michael Reid assumed command of the 482nd Maintenance Group during an assumption of command ceremony at Hangar 200 on Sunday, Oct. 3.

Reid, previously the 482nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander, was promoted after his predecessor, Col. M.J. Giddings Jr., transferred to Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, Calif.

"I am excited to face the challenges that lie ahead and look forward to working with all the members of the 482nd Fighter Wing," Reid said. "In the short time I have been here, I am very proud of the Airmen in the 482nd Maintenance Group."

Reid moved to Homestead Air Reserve Base in February from the 149th Fighter Wing at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
