Homestead Air Reserve Base's education fair draws big crowd Published Oct. 4, 2009 By 482nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla -- The Heritage Hall Conference and Training Center buzzed with future scholars as dozens of military members and their families visited the Homestead Air Reserve Base Education Fair to visit with college representatives on Oct. 3. Guests met with over 25 colleges and universities who answered questions and shared information about what the institutions have to offer. Brochures, pamphlets and door prizes were given out to help facilitate the means to make smart decisions for future education plans. The event, hosted by the 482nd Fighter Wing Education and Training Office, was designed to promote higher education as a means for personal and professional growth. "The representatives who attended on behalf of the schools were excited to be invited to the base," said Aldridge. "We are bringing these great events and opportunities to our members so they can see and know what options they have for their educational future." The success of the education fair promises a promising future for educational events on the base. The education fair will become an annual event, and we look forward to more exciting educational events to come throughout the year, said Senior Airman Audria Aldridge, 482nd FW Wing Education and Training.
