After an 18-year hiatus, the 2009 Wings Over Homestead Air Show roared back with a deep list of performers and displays on Day 1 of the two-day event on Nov. 7.

Over 80,000 spectators filed onto the base to watch six hours of flying - most notably was the headline performance by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds aerial demonstration team. Day 2 of the event will also offer performances by the Air Force F-15 Eagle and Navy F/A-18 Hornet demonstration teams, U.S. Army Screaming Eagles Jump Team, U.S. Air Force Jet Car, and Sky Soldiers: A Tribute to Patriots. Military aircraft including a B-52 Bomber, KC-135 Stratotanker, C-17 Globemaster, F-16 Fighting Falcon, C-130 Hercules, and an H-60 helicopter will be on display.
