Cadets of the University of Miami Reserve Officer Training Course participated in a Land Navigation and Improvised Explosive Device Course conducted on the Homestead Air Reserve Base on Friday, February 11. The 482d Fighter Wing Security Forces Squadron and Explosive Ordnance Disposal conducted the training for 17 cadets and two cadre staff members.

HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- Cadets of the University of Miami Reserve Officer Training Course participated in a Land Navigation and Improvised Explosive Device Course conducted on the Homestead Air Reserve Base on Friday, February 11. The 482d Fighter Wing Security Forces Squadron and Explosive Ordnance Disposal conducted the training for 17 cadets and 2 cadre staff members.

The training covered skills for basic land navigation, such as establishing individual pace count, map reading, and basic survival skills. Also instructors from EOD gave a briefing on UXO/IED detection and reaction.
