Medical squadron welcomes new Commander Published March 6, 2011 By Senior Airman Lou Burton 482d Fighter Wing Public Affairs HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- The 482d Fighter Wing said farewell to Colonel Dana Lilly and welcomed Lt. Colonel Patrick Carpenter as the new commander of the 482d Medical Squadron on March 6. Col. Lilly has served as the medical squadron commander since 2008. Lt Col. Patrick has assumed command after serving as the commander of 944th Medical Squadron at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. The change of command is a military tradition dating from ancient times. Its primary purpose is to ensure that members of a unit witness the change of commanders and the incoming commander's assumption of all formal responsibility and authority.
