New wing command chief selected Published May 24, 2011 482nd Public Affairs Office HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- On June 1, the 482nd Fighter Wing will welcome a new Command Chief Master Sergeant: Chief Master Sgt. Cameron B. Kirksey. The Silas, Ala., native comes to Homestead from the 908th Airlift Wing at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., where he served as command chief. Enlisting in the Air Force Reserve in 1988, Chief Kirksey will advise the commander on matters influencing the health, morale, welfare, readiness and effective utilization of more than1,300 reserve enlisted personnel. He serves as the commander's representative to numerous committees, councils, boards and military and civilian functions. He also serves as the liaison and spokesperson between the enlisted force and the commander. Chief Kirksey takes over from current command chief, Chief Master Sgt. Clarence S. Tears Jr., who is retiring after more than 30 years of honorable military service.
