Homestead Air Reserve Base is participating in the Office of Personnel Management's Third Annual "Feds Feed Families" Food Drive.

The food drive has begun and will run until Aug. 23. Drop off locations are located at the Sam Johnson Fitness Center; Building 360, room 141; the base fire department and Blazin Beans coffee shop. Large donations should be dropped off at the fitness center.

"Homestead Air Reserve Base's participation in Feds Feed Families is one of many ways our base supports our local community. The success of Homestead ARB is tied directly with the success of the local community," said Col. Donald R. Lindberg, Commander, 482nd Fighter Wing.

All items collected will benefit the local Community Partnership for the Homeless. Items being requested for the food drive are any non-perishable food items such as: cereal, rice, beans, macaroni, spaghetti, instant mashed potatoes, ketchup, tomato sauce, coffee, juice, sugar, canned fruit, canned vegetables, vegetable oil, grits, oatmeal, pancake mix, syrup, and canned meat. Also disposable baby diapers are needed as well.
