Reservist's dedicate flag flown in Iraq to Homestead Hospital Published July 25, 2011 By Tanya Walton Homestead Hospital HOMESTEAD, Fla. -- An American flag flown over Kirkuk Air Base in Iraq last year was dedicated to Homestead Hospital on July 25. In a special ceremony at the hospital, members of the 482nd Civil Engineering Squadron, Homestead Air Reserve Base presented the flag to Homestead Hospital Board members and Chief Executive Officer Bill Duquette. Members from the base in attendance were Lt. Col. Theodore Munchmeyer, 482nd CES commander, Chief Master Sgt. David Hanck and Senior Master Sgt. Derald Ortloff. "We are proud of the job we've done in Iraq, and pleased to have flown this flag there in honor of the hospital," Lt. Col. Munchmeyer said. Chief Hanck flew the flag in Iraq for Homestead Hospital on July 4, 2010, during his tour there. His mother, Barbara Hanck, is a long-time Homestead Hospital Board member. The flag can be viewed beneath the grand staircase located in the hospital's main entrance lobby.
