The 482nd Operations Group recently held two assumption of command ceremonies at hanger 200 on Oct. 23.

Lt. Col. Michael F. Hernandez assumed command of the 482nd OG, where he will be responsible for all airfield and aircrew operations.

"I feel very lucky and blessed to become the commander of the 482nd OG," said Hernandez. "I see a team of people who are self-motivated and their motivation is in-line with the mission, which makes us all successful."

Lt. Col. Hernandez joined team Homestead from Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., where he was commander of the 44th Operational Support Flight.

Lt. Col. John G. Poor is also a new commander, who assumed command of the 482nd Operations Support Squadron. Lt. Col. Poor previously served as the assistant director of operations for the 93rd Fighter Squadron.

"To be a good leader you have to have the attitude of a servant," said Poor. "Service before self is a value I hope to uphold as the new OSS commander. I will make sure my people are taken care of."

Col. Donald R. Lindberg, Commander, 482nd Fighter Wing, presided over the ceremonies.

"I am excited we have these new commanders," said Col. Lindberg. "We acquired two sharp and aware pilots, who will bring a plethora of experience to our wing."
