Navy Rear Adm. Thomas L Brown II, the commander of Special Operations Command South presided over the change-of-command ceremony.

In his remarks, Rear Adm. Brown praised outgoing commander Capt. George J. Lindsey II for the work the 112th achieved under his command. "The 112th Signal Detachment is so important when it comes to supporting our deployed servicemembers and partner nation forces," said Rear Adm. Brown. "Under the leadership of Capt. Lindsey, the 112th has become an elite group of troops who understand how to operate their communications equipment and do it with a sense of professionalism."

During his farewell speech, Capt. Lindsey thanked the Soldiers of the 112th for all their support throughout his two-year command.

"Thank you for making me successful and supporting me," he said.
