Commissary patrons attending the Guard-Reserve on-site sale at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., can order their products online now and pick them up during the event.

The Defense Commissary Agency sponsors this event to bring substantial savings on groceries to geographically remote military families. Any authorized patron can shop at these events.

"The preorder, prepay feature gives our customers the convenience of selecting and purchasing their products from their computers," said Larry Bentley, store director of the Naval Air Station Jacksonville Commissary, which is hosting the sale. "They can shop early and ensure they get products in the quantities they want."

Authorized customers can order products and pay with a credit or debit card online now through Aug. 21 and pick up their orders during the sale, Sept. 7-9, Friday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To order online, log onto commissaries.com. Customers will be prompted to validate their authorized shopper status via the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System. Upon submitting their order, customers will receive an automated confirmation message. On or about Sept. 5, they will receive a second confirmation message with an itemized list of products and an order total.

Please note: Patrons can order nonperishable products online by the case and club pack only. They may also purchase individual products and meat items at the sale.
