In order to bring substantial savings on groceries to local servicemembers, Homestead Air Reserve base is hosting a case lot sale, sponsored by the Defense Commissary Agency, Sept. 7-9.

The event, which brings truck loads of groceries to servicemembers at a low cost, is located behind the Base Exchange Shopette across the street from the base's Coral Sea Gate and is open to all servicemembers and dependants with a valid Department of Defense identification card and runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Servicemembers are able to attend the case lot sale and shop at their leisure. A vast array of food items and products will be available for purchase with savings that average more than 30 percent. A few of the many items that will be available are: several varieties of meat, frozen and canned vegetables, cereals, granola bars, condiments, sports drinks, bottled water, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, dog food, garbage bags, and laundry detergent.

Servicemembers are strongly encouraged to partake in these savings in order to bring future case lot sales back to Homestead Air Reserve Base.

The sale is open to all active duty, guard, reserve, retirees, and their dependants. Customers must present a valid Department of Defense identification card that authorizes commissary privileges in order to shop. Cash, checks, and debit and credit cards are accepted for payment. Manufactures' coupons will also be accepted.
