Members of the 482nd Fighter Wing recently took time out to speak and answer questions from young adults of Take Stock in Children Miami during a base tour here July 25.

The kids heard briefings from aircrew flight equipment, security forces, explosive ordnance disposal and an F-16 pilot.

Take Stock in Children was established in 1995 as a non-profit organization in Florida that provides a unique opportunity for deserving low-income youth and students, many from minority families, to escape the cycle of poverty through education. They offer students college scholarships, caring volunteer mentors, and hope for a better life. Their comprehensive services start in middle school, continue through high school, and include their transition into college.
