Members of the 457th Fighter Squadron, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas, volunteer their time as mentors for the Knights of Heroes Foundation, an organization that brings together children between the ages of 11 and 17 who have lost their fathers during military service for a week-long wilderness adventure camp.

The issue includes stories on a Reservist selected as one of the Air Force 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year; an F-16 pilot at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., who began his long journey to the cockpit as a weapons loader; the 60th anniversary of the Air Reserve Personnel Center; the third of a four-part series of articles, written by a rape victim, on the importance of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program, resilience and the wingman initiative; members of the 4th Combat Camera Squadron receiving battlefield forensics training; and a group of F-16 pilots in Texas who stepped up to mentor children who lost their fathers during war.
