Twenty six youth from the Little Havana and Homestead Career Centers were treated to a base visit on Nov. 15. The youth were given briefings by an F-16 pilot, aircrew flight equipment personnel and jet engine shop personnel.  They were also brought to the the flightline to look at an F-16 up close and lastly to watch a group of jets take-off.

The career centers, managed by Youth Co-Op Inc., assist young people ages 16 - 21 who have either dropped out of school or have graduated from high school but need help to find a job. They also provide training to prepare them for the workplace and to explore career paths.

The youth program provides a variety of options from returning to school or obtaining a high school equivalency diploma, to even entering a short-term training or an apprenticeship program.
