DoD announces recruiting, retention numbers for FY14 Published March 22, 2014 Department of Defense Public Affairs WASHINGTON -- The Department of Defense announced today recruiting and retention statistics for the active and reserve components for fiscal 2014, through January 2014. All four active service components met or exceeded their numerical accession goals for fiscal 2014, through January. Army -- 17,002 accessions, with a goal of 16,720; 102 percent Navy -- 10,116 accessions, with a goal of 10,116; 100 percent Marine Corps -- 7,173 accessions, with a goal of 7,162; 100 percent Air Force -- 8,726 accessions, with a goal of 8,726; 100 percent Five of the six Reserve Components met or exceeded their fiscal-year-to-date 2014 numerical accession goals.
