HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. --
Col. Elwin R. Rozyskie, commander of the 482nd Mission Support Group, transferred command of the 482nd Communication Squadron to Maj. Michael D. Wells during an Assumption of Command Ceremony April 5 here.
Wells assumed command of the 482nd CS after serving as chief of inspection plans for Air Force Reserve Command Headquarters at Robins Air Force Base, Ga.
"Major Wells stood out as a project manager, he was an excellent executive assistant, and was a green belt keeper," said Rozyskie. "This means he can make a plan, execute it proficiently, and knows how to get things done."
After receiving his first salute as commander of the 482nd CS, Wells spoke about the importance of family and then went on to talk about changes the career field had gone through in the last decade.
Wells ended the ceremony by quoting Colin Powell, former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in saying, "A leader takes people where they want to go, a great leader takes people where they don't necessarily want to go, but ought to be."
