Team Homestead announces new mission, vision statements Published May 7, 2014 By Col. Chris Funk 482nd Fighter Wing Commander HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- In February, we held a Strategic Planning and Enterprise Value Stream Analysis event. At the event, we discussed issues/concerns that affect Team Homestead. The Tenant Units were also invited, and this allowed for a cohesive review of our mission and vision statements. As we face increasing fiscally strained times, it was important for all organizations here to come together to strategically plan for the future sustainment of the base. As a result, the 482nd Fighter Wing Mission and Vision statement became the Team Homestead Mission and Vision statement to incorporate all organizations here. Team Homestead Mission: Answering our nation's call through air, land, and sea Team Homestead Vision: Team Homestead is committed to leveraging resources, developing infrastructure, enhancing communication and building partnerships for our personnel, families and community to support base operations, quality of life, and services essential to our mission. That's a mouthful, right? But, the vision statement encompasses goals and improvements we would like to accomplish here. It's coming together as a team to find the most efficient ways of supporting our people and their families. While Traditional Reservists at the wing train to deploy, our new, updated vision statement was designed with Team Homestead in mind. Many innovative ideas were discussed to help support the families and members of this installation. As the new AAFES Express nears completion, know that we are working on additional projects to enhance the quality of life here. Including all of Team Homestead in this strategic planning was very productive and I look forward to working with everyone here to implement our updated mission and vision.
