Former Homestead reservist and police officer laid to rest

Carl Patrick, a retired Air Force reservist and Miami Police officer was laid to rest at Dade Memorial Park in Opa-locka, Florida on May 17.

Members of the Homestead Air Base Honor Guard took part in the funeral ceremony and presented Patrick's 86-year old mother Lucille a folded American flag.

Prior to retiring from the Air Force Reserve, Patrick was assigned to the 70th Aerial Port Squadron at Homestead ARB, Florida.

The 25-year police veteran was found dead at his home in Pembroke Pines, Florida on May 9. His death was considered "in the line of duty", and given a full honors funeral.
