Traditional Reservists are invited to participate in a career-building workshop followed by a question and answer session with working professionals from Mission United June 13 from 2p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Conference Center.

Key focus areas of the career-building workshop include social media etiquette, networking for professional branding, career search, resume writing, interview skills and techniques, and how to navigate online application systems.

Reservists are encouraged to provide input through their leadership regarding topics for the workshop as well as question and answer session.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for reservists looking for employment to bring in their resume and receive assistance from trained, highly successful human resources managers and executives," said Lt. Col. David Lionberger, 482nd Mission Support Group deputy commander. "There will be representatives from companies who actively seek and hire veterans because of their skills and training."

Mission United is an organization that specializes in helping support military veterans and their families in Broward County by helping them re-acclimate to civilian life.

The working professionals specialize in human resources and coaching to help veterans with a variety of matters including finding employment in the Broward area. In addition to the career coaching session, the professionals are scheduled to shadow reservists as they drill during the Unit Training Assembly.

"Our goal in coming out to the base is to get a better idea of what reservists do during a drill weekend," said LaVerne Daley, Employment Committee chairwoman with Mission United. "That way we can help veterans with a greater understanding of their military background when they're transitioning back into the civilian workforce."
