Team Homestead recognized 45 Airman for earning degrees through the Community College of the Air Force in a graduation ceremony June 14 in the Sam Johnson Fitness Center here.

Brig. Gen. Chris Funk, 482nd Fighter Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Katdo Robinson, 482nd FW command chief, presented the graduates with their degrees during the ceremony.

"It speaks to the dedication of mentors and supervisors that so many degrees have been awarded in the last two years," said Funk. "Having this degree deepens each Airman's technical knowledge and strengthens our military."

Homestead ARB has been the top Air Force Reserve Command unit for CCAF graduates for the last two years with over 140 degrees awarded.

Dr. Jorge Guerra, CEO of Workforce Education Solutions, was the guest speaker at the event. He began his prestigious career path as an Air Force jet engine mechanic. He talked about the sacrifices made by the students and also the families and friends who helped each Airman accomplish their goal.

"Keep moving forward and only look back to know where you've been," Guerra said.
The CCAF is the world's largest community college system and has awarded more than 400,000 associates in applied science degrees.
