ESGR, base team-up to showcase Reserve mission in 'Boss Lift' opportunity for employers Published June 30, 2015 482nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- The Florida chapter for Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve teamed-up with Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., to put together a 'Boss Lift' opportunity for employers of Traditional Reservists and Guardsmen July 20. Employers of Traditional Reservists and Guardsmen are encouraged to contact the 482nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs office at 482fw.pa@us.af.mil to sign up to participate. The Boss Lift will include the opportunity to check out F-16s getting refueled aboard a KC-135 tanker aircraft. ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. They will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members. The 482nd Fighter Wing, Air Force Reserve Command, maintains and operates Homestead Air Reserve Base, located near the southern end of the Florida peninsula, about 25 miles south of Miami. It is a fully combat-ready unit capable of providing F-16C multi-purpose fighter aircraft, along with mission ready pilots and support personnel, for short-notice worldwide deployment. The wing has approximately 1,600 members, including more than 1,200 reservists, of which 260 are full-time reservists, in addition to 325 full-time civilians.
