The 482nd Maintenance Group held a commander's call to address Airman's questions, provide new resources and information on Aug 8 in the Sam Johnson Fitness Center at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida.

The briefing began with distinguished Airmen being recognized for their actions. These Airmen demonstrated service before self through volunteerism, distinguished themselves by earning promotions or achieved academic success during the last six months.

Senior Master Sgt. Robert Clark, 482nd Maintenance first sergeant spoke to the group about being vigilant.

"As of this week the number of suicides in the Air Force is still increasing," said Clark. "I challenge you to be diligent and see what's going on with your wingman. Stay in tune with them."

He also introduced the AF Pocket Mentor app which has key Air Force instructions and documents. The app includes the Enlisted Force Structure, Air Force Core Values and the Airmen's Creed. The app is available to download through both Apple and Android phone platforms through their respective app download locations.

Finally, Maj. Javier Rodriguez, 482nd Maintenance Squadron commander, addressed questions regarding future deployments.

He took time to answer each question so Airmen could better understand the deployment cycle.

"The briefing clarified some aspects of the deployment for me, like how the cycles will work," said Senior Airman Jacqueline Larsen, munitions system specialist for 482nd MXS.
