Eagle Eyes: Vigilance is key

The Eagle Eyes program is an Air Force initiative that asks Airmen to remain vigilant at all times and report suspicious behavior.

"The Eagle Eyes program is like the Air Force's version of a neighborhood watch," said Michael Byrne an Office of Special Investigations agent here. "We have such a large area to cover, and a week doesn't go by without us seeing something. Having other Airmen help us be on the lookout is 100 percent an aspect of our success."

Those witnessing anything suspicious can call 786-415-7114 to report the activity.

"There are a lot of activities that warrant reporting," said Byrne. "Chief among those are people taking photos of the base outside the gate and people asking Airmen for information about the base itself. It's important to report anything out of the ordinary. It could be something as simple as someone dropping trash since it could be a note or signal."
