HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- Financial literacy is more than just budgeting, it’s a key component of mission readiness. At Homestead Air Reserve Base, Airmen and families have access to multiple on-base resources designed to strengthen their financial fitness during National Financial Awareness Month and beyond.
The Military and Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) offers year-round support through financial counseling, educational workshops, and one-on-one sessions that equip service members with tools to manage debt, build savings, and plan for major life events like PCS moves and retirement.
Financial readiness contributes directly to operational effectiveness. According to Department of Defense guidance, personal financial stress is one of the leading non-medical factors affecting unit performance and individual resilience. The M&FRC team works in coordination with commanders to provide preventative education and confidential support tailored to individual needs.
