HOMESTEAD ARB, Fla. -- On June 18, 2025, three Airmen assigned to Homestead Air Reserve Base graduated from Officer Training School (OTS) at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, marking their official transition from enlisted to commissioned officers.
Now serving in new leadership roles, 2nd Lt. Faith Thomas, 2nd Lt. Sergio Correa, and 1st Lt. Marlon Reid bring valuable prior-enlisted experience to the officer corps.
2nd Lt. Faith Thomas, formerly a senior airman, supported the 482d Fighter Wing’s command staff as an administration specialist within the Wing Staff Agency. Her dedication and professionalism played a crucial role in enabling wing leadership to conduct daily operations effectively. She is now assigned to the 482d Mission Support Group as a Force Support Officer.
2nd Lt. Sergio Correa, who previously served as a technical sergeant, was an air transportation specialist (2T2) with the 70th Aerial Port Squadron. With deep experience in logistics and mobility operations, Correa now steps into his new role as a Logistics Readiness Officer, bringing both technical expertise and leadership insight to the mission.
1st Lt. Marlon Reid, formerly a staff sergeant with the 514th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, worked in the 2A9 Bomber/Special Integrated Communication systems career field. Now serving as a chaplain with the 482d Fighter Wing, Reid joins the Chaplain Corps to provide spiritual care, ethical leadership, and support for Airmen and their families.
Each of these officers was commissioned through the Officer Training School, one of the Air Force’s key sources for commissioning enlisted members and civilian applicants alike. Their successful transition demonstrates the depth of talent within the enlisted ranks and the strength of professional development opportunities in today’s Air Force.
The 482d Fighter Wing congratulates 2nd Lts. Thomas, Correa, and 1st Lt. Reid on their achievements and welcomes them back to the fight as officers.
