HOMESTEAD RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- In a much-anticipated homecoming, the Airmen of the 482d Fighter Wing returned to Homestead Air Reserve Base after a successful deployment in support of Operation Noble Eagle April 3, 2024. This mission, a key element of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), is vital for aerospace warning, control, and defense across North America, ensuring the safety and security of U.S. and Canadian airspace around the clock.
This operation has been the cornerstone of NORAD's efforts to deter, detect, and defeat aerial threats to the continent, a mission that the 482d Fighter Wing carried out with distinction. The Airmen have been at the forefront of air sovereignty activities, covering an extensive operational area that includes the continental United States and the Contiguous U.S. Air Defense Identification Zone.
